Cooperation
Hi welcome to my blog about building cooperation at work.
Improve Cooperation Among Co-Workers As the pool of understanding grows in an organization, the wisdom and market fit of that organization expands too. The vital condition for improving your company’s knowledge base is a culture of safety. People need to feel safe to share what they know. Teamwork needs to become the milieu of your company’s culture; in order to create a unified team people need to share ideas cooperatively. While we can agree with ideals of cooperation and teamwork, the next question is, “How exactly does a company cultivate a culture of cooperation?”. Let’s look at 5 tips for improving cooperation among your workers. When brainstorming ideas for a project, invite contribution from each worker. Sometimes, leaders need to specifically invite input from more reserved workers. Ask workers who seldom share ideas to write their ideas down in point form and contribute them informally or anonymously. The key is to expand the knowledge in the company,
some people may prefer to do this from a distance.
2. After several ideas have been generated, allow two or three of the favourite ideas to be followed up rather than deciding on one idea immediately. Critics of this approach, may query whether whether this is a waste of resources. However, research has shown repeatedly that the wisdom and market fit when following two or three ideas up for a few steps is well worth the investment.
3. Give your workers an informal setting to brainstorm. Provide a light lunch and when possible some movement during the meeting. This can be as simple as walking the site for inspiration, moving furniture around in the meeting room together to create synchrony. When people move together in synchronous movement whether moving a table or walking together, their brain waves begin to sync up creating a set-
ting of agreeableness. Make the most of a meeting using movement.
